1. Our commitment
Greensboro New School believes every child and every family belongs. That belief extends to how families and visitors experience our website and our physical campus. We are working to make sure that people of all abilities can learn about our programs, enroll their children, and communicate with our staff without barriers.
2. Standards we follow
Our goal is to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, speech, cognitive, and learning disabilities. We also build with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in mind.
3. What we do
- Use semantic HTML so that screen readers and assistive technologies can announce content correctly.
- Provide visible focus indicators and full keyboard access for interactive elements.
- Aim for color combinations and font sizes that meet WCAG contrast and readability targets.
- Provide descriptive alternative text for images that convey meaning, and decorative-only labels for purely visual illustrations.
- Test new pages with keyboard navigation and screen-reader checks before they ship.
4. In-person accessibility
Our campus at 304 S. Elam Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27403 includes thoughtfully designed indoor classrooms and outdoor play spaces. If you have a specific accessibility question about touring the school, attending an event, or enrolling a child, please reach out in advance so we can plan with you.
5. Requesting accommodations
We welcome requests for reasonable accommodations from prospective and current families, employees, and visitors. To request an accommodation related to the website, an event, or a visit, contact us at info@greensboronewschool.org or (336) 317-1084. Please include:
- A description of the accommodation you are requesting.
- The page, document, or activity you need help with (if applicable).
- The best way to reach you and a useful time frame.
6. Feedback and concerns
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website or in our programs, we want to know about it. Reports help us prioritize improvements. You can:
- Email info@greensboronewschool.org with the page URL or activity and a short description of the issue.
- Call or text (336) 317-1084 during school hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM).

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.
7. Third-party content
Some pages embed or link to content from third parties (such as maps, social media, or payment portals). We do not control the accessibility of third-party content, but we will help you find alternative ways to access the same information whenever possible.
8. Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. As our website and programs grow, we review new content and features against the standards above and revise this statement when our practices change.
